The final Rover 75 made it to Gaydon, the final ZT V8 went to the SMC dealer group, the last front-wheel-drive ZT was retained by Nanjing, and the final TF is in private hands. With MG Rover falling into administration in April 2005, it took the British Motor Museum in Gaydon to secure the production records, although these are not available for public viewing. Most significantly, we will all know how exactly many cars were built in total… Production records are a vital historian’s tool – from these, you can ascertain what were the most popular variations of any given model range, what colours sailed out of the showrooms, and what were the favoured engine options. ![]()
